ICAS cannot provide compensation to you and it does not have any powers to order its members to pay compensation to any party. However practising members are required to maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance which should protect clients from loss or damage caused by negligence.
If your complaint is that you have been wrongly or inappropriately advised, or that the chartered accountant has been negligent in his dealings with you, you will need to consult a Solicitor, who will advise you on the best course of action.
