The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland is pleased to announce the publication of The Future of Assurance.
The report calls for the duties of company auditors, directors and non-executives to evolve in order to provide greater transparency and accountability to shareholders and others.
The report was produced by a high-level working group comprising investors, preparers, auditors and representatives from the media and academia. The group was chaired by ICAS Past-President Douglas Nisbet with Deputy Chairs, Mike McKeon, Group Finance Director, Severn Trent plc and Guy Jubb, Head of Corporate Governance at Standard Life Investments. Observers from the Financial Services Authority and the Financial Reporting Council were also present at meetings of the group.
