The ICAS Community of CAs expanded recently with the launch of the newest ICAS community in Hong Kong.
The event, held at the Sky Garden level of Ernst & Young Hong Kong’s offices near the waterfront of Hong Kong Harbour.
Among those in attendance at the first ICAS Hong Kong event was Sanford Yung, an ICAS member since 1958, and the first Chinese member of ICAS.
2012 marks the 50th anniversary of Sanford forming his own firm in Hong Kong, a firm which went on to become the member firm of Cooper Brothers & Co / Coopers & Lybrand, and subsequently which merged to form PwC in Hong Kong.
Members also heard from former Senior Partner and Chairman of EY Hong Kong and China, Brian Stevenson CA.
Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and President of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union, founder of the internationally renowned Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, Stevenson has enjoyed a rich and varied career, and engaged with ICAS Hong Kong members in a wide-ranging question-and-answer session.
