ICAS has announced details of a new strategic alliance with accountancy training firm SWAT UK, which will give ICAS members access to a wide range of CPD courses.
“We’re delighted to be working with SWAT UK to provide our members with this opportunity,” said Steven Bennett, ICAS Assistant Director of Learning Solutions. “It is an enormous boost to the range of courses we offer in the London area.
“ICAS members fill a wide variety of roles, and it’s important to offer a diverse range of top-class CPD courses. SWAT UK’s courses are expertly taught, engaging in content, and at convenient locations.”
As part of the agreement, ICAS members will be able to access over 100 options, including updates and courses in taxation, financial reporting, auditing, money laundering and the wider areas of employment and practice management.
The course will be available in SWAT UK’s four London training bases. A discount scheme, similar to that already offered for ICAS-run courses, is available for early booking.
“We wanted to ensure there was an attractive mix of learning opportunities on offer,” said Bennett. “Members can take courses in specialist, technical areas, so that they keep up to date on regulatory developments; but they can also take more general course to boost their skills and improve the performance of their practice or business .”
Originally founded by six firms of accountants in Devon and Cornwall, SWAT UK has developed to become one of the UK’s leading CPD providers. It has a client base of approximately 4,000 firms across the UK.
The company says its aim is to improve the economic well-being and quality of life of clients and staff.
“Fulfilling CPD requirements is sometimes a challenge,” said Bennett. “We wanted to expand the choice for members, so that they get maximum benefits in as easy and as reasonably priced a way as possible.”
Members should book their places on the courses through ICAS Business Courses, and quote the reference “SWATUK” when booking.
The SWAT UK courses can be found in the relevant course sections of the ICAS website, Accounting & Auditing, Business & Financial Management, Corporate Finance, and Taxation.
