ICAS member Patrick Machray OBE has said he is “honoured” by his new position as CEO of Aberdeen and Northern Marts (ANM) Group.
Machray took up his position earlier this month, and said
his main priority would be to provide service to ANM members.
“I understand the challenges we face and am fortunate to
have an extremely talented group of people whom I have known for a number of
years around me in my new role,” said Machray.
“I firmly believe the business has an exceptionally bright
future.”
Former CEO, Alan Craig, has left the business to pursue
other opportunities.
ANM Group chairman, John McIntosh, said: “We recognise the
business, and indeed the industry, is operating in an extremely challenging
environment and have appointed Mr Machray in this role to guide us through this
demanding period.”
A former CEO of Johnston Carmichael and chairman of Scottish
Enterprise Grampian, Machray qualified as a chartered Accountant in 1978 with WD
Johnston & Carmichael. He was appointed CEO of Johnston Carmichael in 1991,
and was central to that firm’s expansion.
He will continue to serve as chairman of the Scottish
Agricultural College’s finance and general purposes committee.
