ICAS Council member Jim Pettigrew has been appointed a non-executive director of Aon Limited, the UK risk management and reinsurance business of Aon Corporation, with immediate effect.
Pettigrew will replace Ron Amy, a long-serving member of the
Aon board.

A native of Dundee, Pettigrew obtained a law degree from
Aberdeen University and a post-graduate diploma in accountancy from Glasgow
University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Young McClelland
Moore.
Pettigrew undertook a number of commercial finance roles in
Scotland prior to joining international insurance broker Sedgwick Group PLC,
where he rose to become Group Treasurer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
He was the Chief Financial Officer for ICAP PLC, a member of
the FTSE 100, before joining emerging markets asset manager Ashmore Group PLC
as part of the team that successfully floated the business on the London Stock
Exchange.
He later spent time as Chief Executive of CMC Markets PLC,
and is currently a non-executive director of a number of other companies
including: Edinburgh Investment Trust Plc, Hermes, Pacific Investments, Royal
Bank of Canada Europe and Aberdeen Asset Management plc.
