Highland Area Committee
The Highland Area Committee runs a number of events throughout the year aimed at bringing together members from across the region. Events range from informal golf tournaments to technical updates. Members from other areas are welcome to attend, and all events are open to CAs whether working, on career breaks or retired.
The events provide an excellent platform to build your networks and we would therefore encourage members who have not yet participated to attend an event and become part of the ICAS professional community.
Gavin MacKenzie, CA
Gavin MacKenzie is the Finance Director of the Cairnstar Group which encompasses Caledonian Cinemas, Littlejohns Restaurants and Caledonian Nightclubs. He led the MBO of the group in 2001.
He is also on the Executive Board of the UK Digital Funding Partnership, a Pension Trustee an d Governor of a University College.
After studying Accountancy and Computer Science in Edinburgh, he trained with Ernst & Young and worked in Corporate Recovery. Subsequently he spent five years working in the legal profession before moving into the leisure business in 1997.
He has served on the Highland Local Area Committee, CAs in Business Committee and Technical Policy Board.
